Bisbee Turquoise opened in 1879 and is recognized for its exquisite turquoise deposits. Though the mine primarily focused on copper extraction, the extraordinary emerging turquoise has garnered worldwide attention. The copper-rich soil in Bisbee gave birth to turquoise stones with deep blue hues, accompanied by a distinct matrix varying from chocolate to "smoky" shades. The mine was closed in 1974, making Bisbee extremely rare.
