The Story of the Ski Bunny — Squash Blossom
In the early 1970s, my friend’s grandma came to Vail determined not to ski—but Grandpa had other plans. “You’re skiing,” he insisted. And so she did, shaking her way down the mountain and surprising herself by making it through the day.
While she warmed up afterward, Grandpa wandered into a little jewelry store already beloved in the village: Squash Blossom. There he found a tiny charm that made him think of her—a playful Ski Bunny.
He brought it back and placed it in her hand. “For my ski bunny,” he said.
